Our team is looking for a candidate with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in mechanical design for one of the following markets or a combination of Transportation, Aviation, Commercial, and Federal Projects. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Management, is highly desirable.

Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC Design)

Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineer, you will coordinate and assign various projects to be performed by the Engineering team. You will be responsible for establishing design standards, specifications, and criteria for projects. You will supervise the preparation of reports and analysis of system options and building conditions and maintaining interdisciplinary coordination with other trades/projects consultants.

Additional Responsibilities:
Supervising and leading coordination meetings, delegating workload, and supervising staff members as they perform their tasks
Participating in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management
Monitoring all correspondence between staff, clients, contractors, owners, etc.
Partnering with senior leadership in the preparation of proposals, scope of work documents, business development and project pursuits
Managing construction administrative duties such as field reports, responses to RFIs, processing bulletins and addenda, etc.
Directing CFD modeling efforts and reviewing results
Performing staff resource management and review, as needed
Mentoring junior level employees and helping them develop in their professional careers

Project Management responsibilities include:
Assuming responsible charge for the overall economic well-being of the assigned projects
Establishing project budgets and schedules and delivering projects on schedule and within budget
Communicating with clients in an engaging manner, maintaining client satisfaction, and project efficiency
Participating in QA/QC process of completed work by staff
Communicating regularly with Client Leaders and Project Managers of other services who may be managing other projects for your same client

Job Requirements

This role requires a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including all applicable building codes and industry standards. In addition to strong engineering skills, you will need a high degree of interpersonal and relationship building skills to be successful in this position.

Senior Engineer Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Project Management, highly desirable
A minimum of 7 years of project design experience in any of the following or a combination of Transportation, Aviation, Commercial, and Federal projects
Current P.E. registration as a Mechanical Engineer is highly desirable
High-level of proficiency in design and calculation software
Working knowledge of Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems to ensure proper design coordination
Detailed legal understanding of documents and the processes involved during a construction project
LEED accreditation preferred
The latest version of AutoCAD experience and REVIT experience
