Job Summary: The Front Desk Agent serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff entering the hospital. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing patient check-ins and check-outs, handling administrative tasks, and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for all individuals. The Front Desk Agent plays a crucial role in maintaining an organized and efficient front desk operation, contributing to the overall quality of patient care and hospital environment.

- Greeting and Assisting Visitors:
- Welcome patients, visitors, and staff with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Provide clear and accurate information regarding hospital services, directions, and policies.
- Patient Check-In and Check-Out:
- Verify patient information, complete registration forms, and update records as necessary.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently, ensuring accuracy in billing and insurance information.
- Telephone and Communication Management:
- Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
- Handle inquiries, concerns, and requests with empathy and professionalism.
- Administrative Duties:
- Maintain and update patient records, including insurance information and contact details.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments, coordinating with medical staff as needed.
- Coordination and Liaison:
- Act as a liaison between patients, medical staff, and various hospital departments.
- Assist in coordinating patient transport, appointments, and other services as required.
- Emergency Response:
- Remain calm and efficient in emergency situations, following hospital protocols and procedures.
- Notify appropriate personnel and assist with patient and visitor needs during emergencies.
- Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Ensure that all patient interactions and documentation comply with privacy and security standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in using office equipment and computer systems, including electronic medical records (EMR) software.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 48 per week
