Job Description: Duties include coordinating and monitoring environmental regulatory requirements of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG); managing and coordinating environmental compliance such as air quality and other public policies that impact municipal operations and city interests, internal environmental compliance training for city employees, and environmental outreach and educational opportunities for city residents; and coordinating, administering and facilitating environmentally friendly programs, special events, projects and presentations. The person assigned to this position will assist in tracking departmental key performance indicators and departmental goals related to environmental outreach, programs and projects; manage the city"s air quality permits; represent the City in local and regional environmental organizations and meetings; and assist the city"s liaison in material preparation, correspondence, meeting preparation and attendance related to the city"s environmental friendly boards, committees and organizations. Duties will require excellent communication, analytical, writing and presentation skills; and working with local, regional and state entities. A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in environmental science, public policy, or a related field required. Must have three years experience in environmental policy or a related area with a proven track record of environmental compliance, event management, policy coordination and public outreach; experience in the management and coordination of grants preferred. Must be knowledgeable in environmental topics and public policy areas related to environmental policy, governing laws and regulations related to local, state, and federal compliance issues; and be proficient in Microsoft office applications.
