JOB TITLE: Human Resources Generalist

REPORTS TO: Manager, Human Resources

Reed Construction is currently searching for a Human Resources Generalist to join our Human Resources department.
Reed Construction is looking for a highly motivated, innovative, Human Resources Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Human Resources experience. This person will be executing a multitude of tasks across the Human Resource department.
The Human Resources Specialist would be primarily responsible for:
Collect and update the HRIS with new hire information (e.g. employment forms and contact information)
Maintain/ update all personnel/HR files regularly
Maintain payroll data including leaves, working hours, and time off requests
Complete monthly union reports
Assist with entering union payroll up to approval stage
Assist with onboarding responsibilities and HR announcements as needed
Assists with the coordination and enrollment of various benefits
Assist with scheduling and setting up various training events or activities
Help prepare Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents
Track progress, priorities, and deadlines of various HR projects
Assist with various other tasks or responsibilities as requested
QUALIFICATIONS / KSAs
Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness. Customer/ client focused. Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work. Keen critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills. Strong communicator – both verbally and in writing. Takes initiative; goes beyond assigned duties.
EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL SKILLS
Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management or related field. Equivalent experience may substitute bachelor’s degree in some cases.
3+ years working knowledge of utilizing an HRIS.
Knowledge of labor laws, employment laws, and compliance surrounding hiring, interviewing and terminations
Construction industry knowledge preferable
Ability to handle multiple demands while keeping a positive and results-focused attitude
Strong interpersonal, customer service, organizational, analytical, presentation, and critical thinking skills
Ability to build effective working relationships and interact with senior management and key partner groups
Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks
Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
