The Material Scheduler will play a role of leadership maintaining the material process flow for all materials under his responsibility to meet the production demand in compliance with agreed inventory levels and operational budget. The position owns the material Life cycle Management, it’s accountable for material creation, changes, inventory disposition and material obsolescence
The Material Scheduler is responsible for the following:
Using current MRP system, analyses materials requirements, place purchase orders according to approved supplier lead time.Assure order confirmation, tracking and expedite shipment as necessary.
Responsible for material availability to support production schedule.Provide visibility to warehouse, incoming and laboratories material disposition priorities.
Lead Huddle Board.
Maintain production materials inventory within corporate policy levels and explains inventory variances resulting from excess or low inventory.
In conjunction with master production scheduler, explore alternatives to use slow movers materials to avoid obsolescence.
Define inventory material depletion strategy to support production demand without impacting write-off. Assure project cross charges in a timely manner (if applicable).
Include material to MRB report as necessary. Generate MDO’s.
Vendor material returns coordination.
Generate changes control as required.
Manage invoice resolution P2P (workflows) timely.
Liaison with Procurement team in all aspects of supplier management and supplier improvement programs.
Leads/ support implementation of lean and six sigma projects and initiatives. Develops and implements long-term supply chain and systems strategies to support broad business objectives.
Provide material forecast to suppliers.
Escalate in a timely manner any material situation that may impact production schedule.
High School Diploma required
2+ years related experience in Supply Chain, Business or Related Fields OR 5 years in Pharmaceutical manufacturing process OR 1+ years related experience with BA/BS in Supply Chain Business or Related fields required
M1 certification recommended.
APICS certification (or in progress) recommended.
Cross functional Supply Chain/Manufacturing experience
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independent with a minimal supervision
