Accountant

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

  • Schedules and performs regular internal reporting and external reporting
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.
  • Achieves budget objectives by scheduling expenditures (Accounts Payable); analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing SEC financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning accounting and human resource employees; following up on work results.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Due to our limited staff, selected individual must be willing to help in all areas of accounting, including but not limited to, processing payroll using a payroll service, completing account reconciliations and handling accounts payable requests.
  • Treasury management for multiple entities
  • Knowledgeable about GAAP guidelines
  • -Created weekly, monthly and yearly cash forecasts based on need
  • -Preformed bank reconciliations and monitored bank activity
  • Full cycle payroll processing and accounts payable for all entities
  • Created, prepared and posted cash, revenue, payroll, and accrual journal entries
  • Analyzed and researched various accounts with unusual variances and unusual g/l activity
  • Assisted with month, quarter, and year-end closing processes
  • Assisted and produced financial statements
  • Conducted internal audits on hotel properties
  • Assisted management preparing SEC quarterly and annual filings
  • Prepared supporting schedules for SEC quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Communicated with external auditors to assist with quarterly reviews and annual audits
  • Participated in ad-hoc projects as assigned

Requirements

Five or more years of general accounting and financial reporting

Professional Attributes: Ability to manage multiply priorities and people to achieve common goals

Personal Attributes: Honesty, Integrity, Independence, Initiative, Confidentiality and Discretion

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office- including Word and Excel. Mas200, F9 and/or SAGE experience preferred. MAS200 is a MUST

Education: BA in Accounting or equivalent, CPA desirable

Preferences Small company accounting management experience, Hospitality or restaurant industry experience, Financial analysis and projections. 4-year Accounting degree with CPA
