Enterprise Finance drives financial management for the company and maintains and enhances risk and financial controls. Key functions within Enterprise Finance include finance and accounting; Treasury; corporate development, mergers, and acquisitions; Data Management and Insights, the Customer Remediation Center of Excellence, Enterprise Shared Services, Business Process Management, and Corporate Strategy. Enterprise Finance informs shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, team members, and leaders of the company’s financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines. They also maintain and enhance risk and financial controls and lead many of the company’s shared services functions including corporate properties, security, and global services.
The analyst will support the modeling of the Wells Fargo balance sheet with main focus on loan and/or trading assets and debt products which is used primarily for the net interest margin forecast, understanding the Company's sensitivity profile, duration gap analysis and market value analytics.
Responsibilities may include:
Understanding how loan products and/or trading assets and long term debt products are modeled in QRM in order to make improvements and add new products or techniques as necessary.
Analyzing risk exposures for loan products in different interest rate and stress testing environments
Support monitoring and tracking of Commercial, Consumer loan portfolios and/or trading assets and long term debt overall as well as focus on understanding the specific attributes of these products.
Contribute towards analysis of key assumption sensitivities relevant to loan and/or trading assets and long term debt products
Perform analytical review of the loan portfolios and/or trading assets and long term debt products and understand key measures/drivers of interest rate risk.
Collaborate with internal resources and business partners to identify and implement improvements to existing data and analyses as well as support reconciliation efforts.
Producing reports to summarize balance and income forecast sensitivity profile and interest rate risk metrics.
Support back testing of assumptions in QRM
Working with business units to create, support and document modeling assumptions
Other ad-hoc analysis as necessary
6+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics and reporting; or a BS/BA degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Economics, Business and 4+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: finance, accounting, analytics or reporting
A Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation
General ledger experience
VB (Visual Basic) experience
Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Knowledge and understanding of asset liability or liquidity management software, especially QRM
Knowledge and understanding of financial analysis, forecasting and analyzing interest income and balance sheet behavior
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Experience in financial statements, projections and financial modeling
Hyperion Essbase experience
Asset and Liability Management (ALM) experience
Ability to successfully operate in a complex and matrixed environment
A BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Reporting
Other Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of financial institution balance sheets and the impacts of interest rate risk practices
Experience with funds transfer pricing
Exposure to Wells Fargo General Ledger systems
Experience with modeling cash flows and balance and income forecasting for Commercial, Consumer loan products and/or trading assets and long term debt products
Demonstrated quantitative, critical thinking and leadership skills
