Against that backdrop, Humana is seeking a Director of Marketing & Consumer Analytics to unlock the full potential of our data, enable measurement of our engagement marketing campaigns and distill data driven insights into actionable marketing strategies.
The Director will be a highly visible and impactful position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for meeting the dynamic data needs of the engagement marketing teams while partnering with Engagement Marketing leaders, Data Science, CRM and Technology leaders as well as leaders across the lines of business to enable data-driven strategies and analysis. You will apply your strategic and analytical skills to contribute to the success of the Humana’s engagement marketing strategy by formulating and executing the data and analytic strategy, driving exceptional results, inspiring managers and associates, and influencing key stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
Provide a clear strategic vision: A plan for enabling Engagement Marketing’s transformation into a performance marketing organization via scalable data, BI and analytic products/solutions.
Thought leadership: Lead hypotheses driven analyses, formulate insights from data and experiments, enable rapid test & learn cycles, champion and drive insights into action
People leadership: Build the analytics team and develop multiple analysts. Coach and mentor associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent.
Partnership: Work closely with colleagues across Humana including: Engagement marketing leaders, CRM, Digital Health & Analytics, IT, and others to drive improvement in marketing strategy & execution capabilities
Clear results orientation: display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. He/she should be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment by managing and sequencing delivery of multiple projects and programs concurrently
Ideal Candidate Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be data-savvy and business-focused, with extensive experience in consumer insights and embedding analytical results into the decision making process. He/she will be a strong leader of people with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of their team. This person will also have a record of success in leading consumer analytics efforts that have produced significant and quantifiable business results. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
In addition, the following professional qualifications and personal attributes are sought:
Proven experience with data schema, applying quantitative disciplines in the consumer marketing arena; expertise with campaign analytics, A/B and multivariate testing, and marketing ROI optimization
Strong working knowledge of common data analysis and reporting tools (such as Tableau, QlikView, SQL, and SAS), as well as marketing analytics techniques (e.g., hypothesis testing, profiling, regression, decision trees, segmentation, etc.)
Experience with financial, NPV analysis, including proven ability to tie financial impact to resulting analytical findings
Work experience in consumer acquisition, loyalty, engagement, or database marketing or within the field of econometrics
Experience leading teams of technical professionals and a proven track record in team development and preparing direct reports for expanded responsibilities
Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences
Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 250), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment
Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills
Advanced degree in marketing, business administration or quantitative field such as database marketing, economics, operations research, or statistics
Consulting or agency experience in a client support role
