What you’ll be doing...
Specific to this role, the Solutions Architect will be the technical architect to lead the enterprise transformation for Federal Clients (i.e., the Pentagon, OSD, and DMA). You will support all facets of the application stack architecture design discussions with the customer and coordinate efforts across VZ support and product specialist organization. You’ll translate customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements. You’ll serve as the technical solutions lead for internal and external solution development including proposals, Request for Proposals (RFPs), Request for Quotes (RFQs), and Request for Information(RFIs) by developing solutions across multi-towers (e.g., Cloud, Security, Networking, Voice, UCC, Contact Center, Wireless, IoT), supporting literature, diagrams, write-ups, responses, and presentations.
Responsibilities associated with the position include:
Serving as an integral part of the sales team to identify and qualify business opportunities, identifying key Client technical objections, and developing the strategy to resolve technical obstacles.
Owning the technical relationship with clients, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, coordinating additional technical resources, and obtaining Client requirements and translating these into a (Client-specific) Solution Design and/or Verizon Enterprise offer.
Leading solution definition and solution design, both internal within Verizon Enterprise as well as towards the Client.
Leading prioritization of Client solution/technical requirements and champions resolution of solution/product gaps internally.
Working with potential Clients to analyze IT infrastructure for potential opportunities to demonstrate Verizon Enterprise solution's unique capabilities.
Articulating the Verizon Enterprise vision on technologies and solutions towards the Client and positioning Verizon Enterprise as thought leader on key technological developments.
Developing an individual skill set and expanding product knowledge to maximize value and to deliver quality services to our clients.
Traveling to Client sites, conferences, and other related events as required.

You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience selling, designing, or consulting on technical enterprise business solutions.
Willingness to travel.
USA: TS/SCI security clearance.
Even better if you have:
A Master’s Degree in engineering, computer science or other technical discipline.
Experience designing IT and/or managed telecommunications solutions (ideally, from concept development through implementation).
Experience proposing, selling, and/or implementing large complex enterprise-wide technology solutions to Fortune 500 companies (ideally, “Big 5” consulting experience).
Experience project managing large-scale complex enterprise-wide technology solutions.
Experience building business cases incorporating cost analysis and ROI.
Experience developing and implementing one or more of the following:
Data and IP services (e.g., VoIP, MPLS, VPN, Internet).
Network services (e.g., LAN, WAN, content delivery, WLAN, managed IP PBX)
Managed security solutions (e.g., firewall, proxy, VPN).
Managed mobility solutions, data center outsourcing (e.g., cloud, application hosting, managed storage)
Call center technologies (e.g., ACD, IVR, customer portal, WFM).
IT applications management (e.g., SOA, web services, RTE).
Four or more years of experience in a pre-sales or customer-facing consulting capacity, or other relevant technical experience.
Experience presenting and delivering technical pitches demonstrating the value of proposed Verizon solutions.
The ability to generate solution documentation for internal stakeholders and clients in the form of written solution explanations, diagrams, slides, documents, and spreadsheets.
The ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions.
Government Integrator experience.
Experience in sales or service of Government customers.
Advanced design and experience in at least three of the following:
Data and IP Services (e.g., MPLS, SIP, internet, VPN, SDN, NFV, SDWAN).
Voice Services (e.g., Circuit Switched Voice, IP Voice, SIP Trunking).
Access Technologies (e.g., TDM, Ethernet).
Network Operations (e.g., Managed Services for WLAN, LAN, WAN, IP PBX, Automation/Orchestration).
Security (e.g., DDOS, FW, IDS, WAF, DDI, SIEM, Analytics, Micro-segmentation).
Call Center Technologies (e.g., ACD, IVR, Call Recording, Toll Free Services).
Cloud and Data Center Outsourcing (e.g., application management, compute and storage, virtualization, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
Wireless technologies (IoT) IT Applications Management (SOA, Web Services).
Security, architecture, and industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, TOGAFv9, ITIL, Cisco CCNA or CCNP, CCSK, Avaya, Amazon, Microsoft).
Knowledge in leading technology network and security vendor portfolios (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Viptela, Versa, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Riverbed, Juniper).
