Facebook is seeking a Generator Specialist to join our Data Center Facility Operations team. Our data centers serve as the foundation upon which our software operates to meet the demands of our customers. The Generator Specialist will be a part of the facility operations team and will be responsible for being the emergency generator system operations expert. The candidate will need to be experienced in all aspects of generator theory, operations and maintenance (electrical, mechanical and controls) and have a working knowledge of electrical distribution and general mechanical systems.
Serve as technical/consultative resource for Emergency Generators and supporting equipment.
Support troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of emergency generators.
Assist in authoring processes, procedures and reporting metrics.
Analyze data to assist development of predictive maintenance plan.
On-site lead for root cause analysis activities in area of expertise.
Travel to other data center regions.
Provide training to critical facility engineers on emergency generators and supporting equipment.
Manage vendor relationships, scheduling and work scope.
Supervise and validate vendor-performed activities (startup, commissioning, maintenance, etc.).
Perform any additional services needed to meet the requirements of the facility in support of maintenance functions.
High school diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
6+ years of experience as a trade or manufacturer generator technician
Knowledge of power generation and transfer systems
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
