Responsible for providing support and daily administration of Torchmark Corporation Affiliates' benefit programs to support and align with business objectives and strategy. The role actively participates in the administration of benefit plans.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Administers the day-to-day employee benefit plans
Processes life events, status changes, and termination of benefits
Administers benefit plans and monitors processes for relevance and efficiency
Assists the HR team members and other employees regarding benefit -related questions/concerns/issues for all locations
Assists with Benefit Orientation semi-monthly to educate new employees on the benefit plans offered by the Company
Assists with preparation and implementation of the annual Benefits Open Enrollment
Administers COBRA notifications and terminations
Reconcile monthly invoices by utilizing Lawson deduction reports and prepare check requests
Utilizes the Infor(Lawson) benefit module to enter, report, train, and assist other users
Monitor Dependent Eligibility reports and notify overage dependents of COBRA eligibility
Prepares written communications to employees regarding employee benefits
Ability to interact effectively with employees
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations
Ability to read, and comprehend SPDs, and general information pertaining to benefit plans
Strong customer service orientation
Well-organized with finely tuned attention to detail
Technical aptitude for HCM systems and proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to work independently with little supervision as well as collaborate within a team environment to produce results
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality, multi-task and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive driven environment
Bachelor's Degree preferred; course of study in Business, Human Resources or related field preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in administering employee benefit programs
Advanced knowledge of Federal and local regulations pertaining to the operation of benefit plans
A high level of conceptual thinking, judgment and decision making for solving benefit-related problems
Heavy PC and phone usage.
Heavy visual activity and manual dexterity.
Frequent bending/stooping while filing information in file cabinets and retrieving information from shelves and storage.
Occasionally lifts and carries up to 20 pounds.
