Class Description
THIS IS A NON-CIVIL SERVICE POSITION

The Office of the State's Attorney for Baltimore City is seeking to fill the position of Receptionist/Administrative Assistant. This full-time, contract position is located at 120 E. Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD and does not include benefits.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Welcome and assist visitors with or without appointments.
Answer incoming calls and refer calls to appropriate staff
Look up cases for attorneys, victims and witnesses.
Check messages.
Log in packages & case files that come in and notify the receivers by email.
Accept, receive and send correspondents and legal documents to the attorneys and the District courts.
Maintain updated telephone directory spreadsheet and send updates to MIS and other staff members.
Update the reception relief schedule as needed.
Maintain security by following procedures, rules and regulation.
Report any maintenance issues.
Help other staff members as needed.
Make sure time stamp is correct (daily maintenance needed to keep clean).
Keep lobby and vestibule clean and presentable.
Make sure conference room is clean at all times.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Outstanding demonstrated customer service, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills (required).
Prior experience operating a multiline telephone switchboard (preferred).
Ability to meet deadlines and be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (required).
Ability to multitask and work effectively in a high volume environment (required).
Selected candidates will be subject to drug and alcohol testing and a criminal background check before starting employment (required).

Salary: $17.33 - $20.06 commensurate with experience. Benefits not included.
