Job Summary:
As a Deli Associate, you will play a crucial role in our deli department by preparing and serving a diverse range of deli products, such as sandwiches, salads, and hot food items. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring food quality and safety through adherence to proper food handling and sanitation protocols, delivering exceptional customer service by assisting patrons with their orders, operating cash registers accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Duties:
- Prepare and serve various deli items following established recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Uphold food quality and safety standards by implementing proper food handling practices and sanitation procedures.
- Assist customers in placing orders, answering inquiries, and providing product recommendations.
- Operate cash registers efficiently, handling transactions accurately.
- Keep work areas clean and organized by sanitizing equipment, utensils, and food preparation spaces.
- Stock shelves and display cases with fresh deli products to ensure availability for customers.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize operational efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction.
Skills:
- Proficiency in basic math for cash handling and recipe measurements.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and food safety regulations.
- Strong customer service skills to offer friendly and helpful assistance to patrons.
- Sales abilities to promote deli products and upsell additional items effectively.
- Competence in handling food safely, including storage, handling, and temperature control.
- Preferred experience in cash handling within a retail or food service environment.
- Culinary or food service background is advantageous.
