Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Admissions Counselor for Satellite Recruitment.  This position will be based out of Hagerstown, MD. 

Primary Job Duties: Recruit students to enroll in Salisbury University satellite programs at USMH, Cecil Community College, SMHEC, ESHEC, and USG. The person in this position will travel to high schools, college fairs, community events, and community colleges to meet with prospective students, provide information about Salisbury University's programs, answer student questions, and assist students in completing the enrollment process. The position will design outreach and marketing communications, plan on-site and off-site recruitment events, and maintain contact with prospective students via phone, email, etc. The person will cover a designated recruitment territory based out of SU's location at USMH, spending half of their time in support of recruitment for the Social Work and Community Health programs and half of their time in support of other satellite programs, as assigned by their supervisor. The Counselor will communicate and coordinate efforts with site coordinators at each satellite location to maximize outreach effectiveness. Position will be responsible for developing a recruitment plan and tracking progress against assigned recruitment goals as well as assisting with application and transcript admissibility assessment process.  

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of related experience.  High motivation to achieve goals, strong communications skills, ability to present persuasively in front of an audience, relationship building, attention to detail, professional presentation, ability to plan and execute events. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, valid driver's license with less than 5 points.

Must have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through and time management skills.  Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment.  Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.     

Preferred Qualifications:  Master’s degree and professional experience working in an educational environment, sales and marketing or event planning is preferred.

This is a full-time, exempt, State position with a full benefits package.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  The work schedule will be based upon the needs of the University and will require significant travel.  Many evening and weekend hours are required with overnight stays.
