Responsible for billing and verifying tuition, fees and other charges on student statements (undergraduate and graduate) and communicating this information to students and parents.
Coordinate and effectively communicate with students, parents, and others regarding bill payments, financial aid and billing questions, and compliance requirements.
Manage credit balances on student accounts and ensure timely refunds of excess funds to maintain Title IV compliance.
Manage outstanding student receivables and collections for undergraduate and graduate students to include keeping an updated list of current students with outstanding balances due, corresponding with students who have outstanding balances due and assigning their accounts to the state Intercept Program.
Manage, coordinate, reconcile, and analyze specified general ledger accounts including all financial aid and outstanding student receivables for Continuing Education and Center for Maritime Professional Training and communicate with staff regarding outstanding balances.
Manage the processing of health insurance waivers and health insurance enrollment.
Manage daily reconciliation of cashiering sessions. Resolve discrepancies and record adjustments on trial balance as needed.
Manage daily cash management of deposit and withdrawal from Academy operating account.
Assist with the management of monthly payment plan for undergraduate students.
Assist with preparation of 1098-T tax forms.
Oversee and assist with processing and reconciling daily cash receipts and bank deposits.
Assist with the transmittal of student financial aid onto student accounts.
Oversee processing of all Vocational Rehabilitation invoices, including Chapter 31 Veterans, Mass. Rehabilitation Commission and the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind.
Analyze and prepare accounting reports for month and year-end review for management and assist with month and year-end closing of accounting processes.
Represent the Office of Student Financial Services at Open Houses, Welcome Aboard, Orientation, and other events as needed.
Qualifications and requirements:
Strong written, verbal, oral and organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Personal integrity and a demonstrated commitment to business ethics and practices.
Detail oriented individual who possesses the ability to interact with all levels of personnel.
3 – 5 years’ experience in the financial customer service related profession.
Must be flexible and a self-starter who requires minimal supervision
Salary: $50,000 to $54,000 The Academy offers generous benefits policies and a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position is exempt under the FLSA.
