DevTech Systems, Inc. (DevTech) is an international consulting firm dedicated to development, with 35 years of experience providing advisory services and technical assistance to government, private sector, and civil society stakeholders in more than 100 countries. DevTech core practice areas include: Economic and Data Analysis, Monitoring and Evaluation, Education and Youth Development, Gender and Inclusive Development, and Public Financial Management. The Junior Data Analyst will work on an as-needed basis to support the USAID Analytics, Data, Visualization, and Information Services (ADVISE) project as part of the Data Services team. ADVISE’s main purpose is to improve the usage of USAID data and information, so that the Agency continues to ensure its development outcomes are supported by evidence.
The Junior Data Analyst supports the Data Services team with data analyses, reporting, and visualizations. The Junior Data Analyst may develop graphics; compile datasets and databases required to store, analyze and report on data; develop reports as requested; support the development of training curricula related to data cleaning and analysis; and other research assignments. The Junior Data Analyst may support other special projects which span any of the systems, websites, and services under ADVISE and may include reports, visual products, and maps or other geospatial products based on underlying data. The Junior Data Analyst reports to the task lead.
Support with the maintenance of USG foreign assistance, socioeconomic, and other databases for official reporting, i.e. data cleaning, data validation, data processing
Applying statistical theory and methods for data collection, organization, management, and analysis using tools such as R, SPSS, Stata, and SAS
Master’s degree in progress or recently completed
Experience with SAS, R, Tableau, and/or Python required
Experience with data cleaning and analysis
Interest and/or experience with database management
Proven oral and written communication skills
Current secret security clearance preferred
Familiarity with USAID and/or other USG data preferred
This position is part-time with a work load expectation of 10-15 hours/week
