The job of the Assistant Director of Early Head Start/Head Start/Child Care Partnerships leads and ensures the delivery of a high quality early childhood education programs and supports; directs the delivery of Early Head Start, Head Start, Pre-K Counts, and HSSAP early childhood programs and services; facilitates wraparound and supplemental early childhood education programming (both CCIS and private pay); provides information and services as a resource to others; achieves defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines, federal and state regulations, and DCIU Board Policies and Administrative Directives; serves as a member of the leadership team; provides support and assistance to the Parent Family Community Engagement (PFCE) content area in the specialized functions of Family and Community Services, Eligibility Recruitment Selection Enrollment & Attendance (ERSEA), and Transition.
PDE Certification preferred.
Class Evaluator Certification (to obtain)
PDE Administrative Certification required if responsible for PreK Counts teacher evaluations
Master's degree in job related area preferred; Bachelor's degree is required.
Administrative experience within a specialized field with increasing levels of responsibility is
Minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in ECE preferred
Oral and written communication skills
Computer literacy regarding management information systems
High-level decision making skills; maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times Ability to relate to and function effectively with people of varying background and position Ability to communicate effectively and possess a positive and professional attitude toward duties and responsibilities
