The Patient Referral Specialist has a broad range of responsibilities including; accurate and timely data entry, understanding and selecting inventory and services in key databases, communicating with referral sources, and appropriately utilizing technology to notate patient information/communication.

A high school diploma is required
At least 1 year of work experience in a related field. Related job experience includes experience in health care, financial or insurance customer service, claims, billing, or a call center environment.
Previous work experience in the health care field is preferred.
Excellent multitasking skills, ability to work on many projects at once, detail-oriented and organized, to maintain accurate patient insurance records.
Ability to focus and work quickly, as referrals need to be processed in a timely manner.
Strong skills with working in a team environment.
Above average telephone, computer skills (word, excel, keyboard), organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology, claims, and accounts receivable.
