We are hiring a 2nd shift Lift Truck Operators (LTO) to provide safe and efficient material handling to support customer needs. The hours for this position are 8am - 4:30pm on Sunday and 9:30am - 6pm Monday through Thursday. This full-time position will report to the shift Operations Supervisor and may occasionally require weekends, holidays, and overtime.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Safely inspect, unload, and put away product from inbound trailers, containers, and railcars via lift truck.
- Operate a stand up and order picker lift truck to pick orders, replenish inventory to pick locations, and load orders onto trailers, containers, and railcars.
- Utilize all material handling technology to maximize efficiency and maintain accurate inventory.
- Ensure all safety and position standards of operating procedures are followed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Reliable transportation to report to scheduled shift.
- Basic math, reading, and writing skills to ensure accurate counts and paperwork.
- Ability to operate technology equipment including Radio Frequency (RF) Scanners to manage inventory.
- Previous knowledge or a desire to learn about product handled at WSI.
- Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and follow through on assigned tasks and responsibilities.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and written.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Previous lift truck experience; loading and unloading trailers, containers, and railcars.
- Previous experience working in warehouse environment, preferred.
- Experience operating lift trucks with attachments such as forks, drum clamps or roll clamps.
- Experience operating an order picker, and stand up lift truck.
PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended times throughout hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to repetitively twist or turn to drive in reverse and stand, climb, kneel, stoop and squat, as needed.
- Ability to turn steering wheel on lift truck requiring full rotation of arms and shoulders.
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds safely.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and uniforms provided by the company.
