The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex. As an organization within the Smithsonian, the Audio Visual Branch provides a full range of multimedia services, such as closed-circuit teleconferences, webcasting, video production, and live recorded programs, that support the Institution's mission: The increase and diffusion of knowledge.
The Audio Visual Branch is seeking an Audio Visual Operator (AVO) with experience configuring and operating webcast technologies. The right person for this role is someone who can: 1) set up and operate broadcast and cinema cameras; video switchers, routers, and scalers; projectors; lighting; and networking technologies; 2) work quickly and accurately with minute details; and 3) work collaboratively with diverse personalities.
Applications are being accepted for the intermittent (occasional) position, with opportunities for work occurring Monday-Saturday. The salary is an hourly rate between $20.63 -$28.48 dependent upon skill level, experience, and certifications. The duty location is Washington, D. C. The position will open on 2-12-2020 and close on 3-13-2020. Applicants may be asked to work overtime or travel. All applicants must be able to physically reach, bend, kneel and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
