Job Summary
Kennel Assistants at Vale Park Animal Hospital are the gentle yet diligent caretakers of the animals, and their role here is very important. All of the patients who stay here depend on their top-quality care. As a Kennel Assistant, one must be compassionate and caring towards every pet who stays with us. From monitoring the treatments of pets and documenting their care to wrapping surgical packs, a Kennel Assistant here always has duties to perform. We are seeking some passionate team members with a strong work ethic and previous experience with handling cats and dogs to add to our growing Vale Park Animal Hospital team!
Responsibilities and Duties
Please be aware that working as a Kennel Assistant may expose you to the bodily fluids of animals including but not limited to:
The duties of a Kennel Assistant include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring the health and comfort of the animals, as well as recognizing emergency situations and reporting any health concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Cleaning of surgical instruments & preparing surgical packs
- Assisting technicians and doctors with procedures
- Documentation of all treatments and abnormal activity
- Walking dogs and picking up after them
- Feeding and providing fresh water to dogs and cats on schedule
- Washing dishes and bowls
- Washing and disinfecting kennels and cages
- Changing bedding when soiled and replacing it with clean bedding
- Washing, drying, and folding laundry
- General housekeeping of animal housing, food prep, and laundry areas
- Other tasks needed to ensure the health and safety of the animals.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $19.00 per hour

Experience:
- Veterinary experience: 1 year (Preferred)
