Willowwind School Summer Program is seeking teacher(s) to lead two classes this summer for incoming 3rd-6th grade students:
*Scratch Programming - June 11-22 (Monday-Friday) 8:30-11:30am
*Join us for two weeks of creativity, problem solving, and collaboration as you learn not use a hugely popular programming language. Develop your Scratching skills and create exciting online projects to share with others. This class is open to novices as well as students who have previous programming experience, however, a little bit of background in programming is helpful.
*Web Design – July 23-27 12:30-3:30pm
*Have you ever been to a website and wondered how it was made? After learning about internet safety, students will spend the week researching a topic of their choice and creating a website on their topic. Adding information and pictures to web pages, and including links to documents and other web resources are among the topics that will be covered in this 21st century class.
Willowwind School, an independent pre-k through sixth grade school in Iowa City, is seeking teachers to teach week-long summer classes that fit within academic areas such as engineering, science, alternative energy, technology, music, art, drama, mathematics, and reading/writing (based on candidate teaching interests and strengths). Teacher must be available for the entire session(s). Salary based on experience.
Experience working with school aged children is desired. Background in education, or related fields is preferred.
