Design and implement processes, and/or equipment to increase capacity and/or reduce manufacturing costs. Identify, justify, and coordinate the implementation of manufacturing capital improvement projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design and coordinate installation and operation of filament winding or similar production equipment.
Design plant layouts.
Support maintenance, functional work group, and other departments with technical evaluations.
Studies and records time, motion, methods and speed involved in performance of maintenance, production and other workers operations to establish standard production rate and to improve efficiency.
Studies sequence of operations to be performed and flow of business and material.
Coordinate shop improvements, fixtures, tooling, etc.
Coordinate the implementation process of capital projects.
Communicate with vendors, contractors, and department managers on machinery requirements.
Investigate cost reduction proposals.
Know and understand Weatherford Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality Systems Manual, Operating and Technical Procedures and Workplace Instructions.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Weatherford.
Work assignments carried out to the highest quality level.
Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor within the physical constraints of the job.
Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles
Basic working knowledge of Six Sigma principles
Mechanical design skills knowledge. ASTM (American Standard Testing Materials)
Basic electrical skills knowledge.
AutoCAD or CREO knowledge or similar design program
Computer skills - MS OFFICE
Technical writing skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Composite Materials, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering
The physical ability to immediately respond to emergency situations
Minimum of 1 year Composite Filament Winding experience in a production manufacturing environment
Occasion travel - primarily within Texas
Six Sigma Certification or Lean Practice
5+ years' manufacturing experience
