This position supports an organization with enterprise-wide responsibilities for the development, implementation and support of complex systems that conform to Floor & Décor’s systems standards and methodology. In addition, the individual in this role will be engaged in and lead the gathering of business requirements/user stories and the decision-making process for architectural and system design.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education based on one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
1+ years of Lead Developer experience
5+ years of MIS experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
Experience leading an Agile development team
Ability to work on multiple “open” projects at one time as they are in various stages of development, test, and approval
Proven business, infrastructure and support problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Must be detail-oriented, highly organized and results driven
Possess excellent customer service skills
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
POSITION PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with Java/JEE Frameworks/Technologies (Spring, Hibernate, JMS, JPA,)
Experience with Java Application Server ( JBoss / Jetty / etc)
equivalent a plus)
Experience writing efficient SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL, DB2)
Issue and project tracking (JIRA)
Ability to convey technical specifications in a business-friendly manner
Excellent communication, problem solving, and data analysis skills
Ability to grasp and learn new tools and technologies as needed to complete job tasks
The Lead Developer will demonstrate competence with project/release coordination tools, processes and standards and apply them effectively to small projects. The Lead Developer will have demonstrated knowledge of one or more subsystems and be able to relate those to system requirements and design.
The Lead Developer will engage in the decision-making process for sprint task and user story creation, estimation and planning as well as monitor and manage sprint progression.
Reliably relay information, instructions and expectations between team manager, development team and business partners
Lead partnership with other Floor & Decor department organizations to ensure all new systems and enhancements have a positive impact
Create and maintain infrastructure design documentation and utilize experience in creating a strategic framework, processes, programs and plans
Mentor other team members on technology and processes
Write, verify and manage change specifications and support documentation for project/release implementation as part of change management process
Activities for this position may include application processing, data modeling, debugging, development of job flow/transaction processing, business process reengineering, implementation and coordination of program releases, investigation and correction of error conditions or application discrepancies and verification that application processing complies with company standards
