Location: Maywood
Overview: The Non-profit Vice President of Finance will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient functioning of NAMI Metro Suburban systems and people. This individual will oversee various operational aspects, including Human Resources, Financial Operations, Grant Contract Adherence, HIPAA Compliance, and Facility Updates. The position will possess a blend of managerial, administrative, and strategic skills to streamline organizational processes and support the mission-driven initiatives of the organization. This is Salaried exempt position and reports to the CEO. The HR Manager, Finance Manager and Facility Manager reports to the Vice President of Finance.
Responsibilities:
1. Human Resources Management:
- Oversee and strengthen recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluation processes.
- Implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
2. Financial Operations:
- Prepare and provide monthly and annual financial reporting of operations to the Finance Committee, the Board of Directors, and funders.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial policies.
- Collaborate with the NAMI’s Finance Committee and Executive Director to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Lead the Annual Agency audit, including financial and Federal single audits.
- Lead the tax return preparation for outside tax firm.
3. Grant Contracts:
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of grant budgets and contracts.
- Monitor grant compliance and reporting requirements.
4. HIPAA Compliance:
- Ensure the organization's compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Work with outside consultant, to develop and implement policies and procedures to safeguard patient/client information.
5. Facility Updates:
- Oversee leases, business licenses, and facility maintenance.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely updates and repairs.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Non-profit Management, or related field (master’s preferred). Must have a current CPA
Proven experience in operations management within the non-profit sector.
Strong understanding of HR practices, financial management, grant processes, and HIPAA regulations.
Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
