Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Seamstress to join our team. As a Seamstress Assistant, you will be responsible for alterations on men's clothing, pinning clothing on customer, maintaining sewing equipment. Work shift will be Monday - Wednesday and the first Saturday of each month 9:30 am - 6 pm, with a 1 hour lunch break. Fill in and peak season hours can allow for more hours.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Lead Seamstresses in pinning/tailoring clothing
- Perform hems, waists, patches, tapers, sleeve length adjustments and more unassisted according to company standards
- Operate sewing machine and other equipment independently according to company standards
- Prep more difficult work for Lead Seamstress
- Keep a tidy workspace
- Maintain professionalism in the workplace and with customers
- Stay up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends
Requirements:
- Previous experience in sewing/alterations, preferably in mens clothing or a similar environment
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (Bilingual skills are a plus)
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
