UPMC is hiring full-time Patient Access Representatives to work patient registration at the front desk and bedside in our Emergency Departments at our UPMC hospitals. Whether you are looking to start your career in healthcare or are looking to expand your skill set, this is the opportunity for you!
In this entry-level role, you will travel to any UPMC Emergency Department throughout Allegheny County and Cranberry and work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, and overnight hours) on various days (weekends and holiday availability is required). After six months of floating to various hospitals, there is the potential to be placed at one Emergency Department.

Responsibilities:
Your typical day will be working with patients and family members as they come into the Emergency Room. You will be one of the first UPMC team members they check in with. As part of that process you will:
- Obtain or update necessary demographic and insurance-related information.

Confirm insurance eligibility

Collect and record patient payments including co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles
- Obtain applicable signature for consent to treat and financial responsibility, along with signatures on any required forms
