  • Obtain material and equipment quotes from vendors
  • Establish and maintain working relationship with suppliers and trade partners
  • Perform material buy outs for plumbing projects and lead supplier negotiations on pricing and product selection
  • Manage material lead times, supply chain logistics, and insure just in time material delivery
  • Compare material quotes and identify potential cost savings
  • Insure timely material PO issuance and order submission
  • Monitor and assess vendor performance
  • Manage and insure timely collection of manufacturer rebates
  • Utilize Viewpoint software and MS Excel to create and manage vendor PO’s and requisitions
  • Generate, organize, and award purchase orders to vendors
  • Generate material change orders
  • Resolve Issues and conflicts with material vendors
  • Assist with estimates on cost of plumbing materials
  • Assist with selecting and pricing VE options
  • Manage timely creation and submission of product submittals and warranties
  • Monitor cost increases and insure timely correspondence to protect prices for active projects
  • Insure and manage timely submission of requisitions of field orders
  • Assist with review and negotiation of terms and conditions of vendor contracts
  • Review and insure compliance to project specifications
  • Understand and minimize the negative implications of cost increases, logistics issues, or other unexpected occurrences related to material orders and deliveries
  • Review and approve material invoices, request credits for incorrectly priced items


  • Knowledge of construction industry in general and plumbing trade in particular;
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and spec’s;
  • Proficiency in use of a personal computer and software programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of commercial plumbing and/ or large scale construction purchasing and supply chain experience

Preferred Professional Qualifications:

  • Multi-Family Construction and/ or plumbing industry experience
  • Familiar with Procore, OST, Viewpoint, Keystyle software
  • Bachelors degree or progress towards one.
  • Knowledge of the laws and codes regulating plumbing construction;
