The Regional Director, Delivery Operations ensures that all delivery operations conducted within his/her region comply with the performance and safety standards set by Bob’s Discount Furniture while driving Store Sales growth and improved service levels in identified areas. This position reports to the Director of Delivery Operations.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationship with operations management, store management and delivery management including sub contractors:
Utilizing combination of personal, telephone or email communication

Conduct periodic visits to each satellite location:
Perform site inspections
Conduct weekly meetings

Provide strategic direction applicable to systems/procedures
Makes decisions on additional financial costs approvals on problem deliveries and escalations
Communicates and enforces standards of operations for off-site delivery depots which consist of Bob’s Discount Furniture contractors where applicable including:
Conducting on the road evaluations
Gather and analyze data collected in system (logs/stats etc)
Collecting input from various sources
Conduct thorough investigations as needed
Provide consistent feedback, and take any appropriate corrective measures

Monitors off site sub-contractor delivery operations as assigned to insure that contract performance standards are maintained and complied with including:
Compliance with contract including delivery standards
Provides input regarding vendor chargeback’s to subcontractor
Quarterly audits and performance reviews
KPI performance

Provide guidance regarding operation of company equipment
Quarterly audits and performance reviews
Monitor performance of various locations and markets
Leads and conducts investigations as required (directed)
Development and creation of localized Regional Delivery Management Team
RFP creation and execution for new Delivery Markets and Carrier introduction
Contract negotiation as needed
Directs, communicates and enforces standards of operation for a number of offsite delivery depots via a Regional Management team in a specified market which can include a combination of company operated or subcontractor operated locations

Decision Making Responsibilities:
High to Executive level managerial decisions

Financial Responsibilities:
Manage Market P&L Statement for company EBITDA performance
Provides input regarding vendor charge backs to be applied to subcontractor
Provides approval for additional expenses incurred as result of delivery effort

Supervisory Responsibilities:Dependent upon Regional (market) make up or region assigned:
Regional Delivery Mangers/Routing Manager/Logistic Manager
If only subcontractor run depots then no direct supervisory responsibilities

Required Qualifications

College degree required or minimum of 15 years experience
At least 7-10 years experience in each of the following areas:
Managerial position
Product delivery or related experience
Experience in an alternate Big Ticket Retailer acceptable
Excellent communication skills
Adept in both verbal and written communication
Ability to adjust tone, body language etc. based on situation
Ability to work independently etc. based on situation
Ability to work independently
Self motivated
Strong time management skills
Ability to analyze information and solve problems
Ability to motivate/develop others
Ability to consistently travel to offsite locations
Ability to work flexible schedule as department needs dictate
Strong computer abilities
Competent in Word, Excel, MapPoint, SharePoint, Outlook and PowerPoint
Ability to master applicable software such as RP, SAP, Roadnet and Paylocity etc
Ability to operate RF system
Proficient mathematically
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages and statistical inference and apply to practical situations
Strong work ethnic

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with wood, upholstery, bedding, and leather furniture preferred
