About Our Job
Denver International Airport is seeking a Manager of Facility Services to join the Airport Infrastructure Management (AIM), Facility Services Team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will have the opportunity to apply your technical and leadership abilities. This position will implement standard policies for review of DEN and tenant design and construction projects; and develop coordination guidelines for standardization of quality assurance practices.
The Facility Services Team is responsible for all building structure maintenance and repair, design and construction.Design oversightproduced by architectural and engineering consultants.In conjunction with other Facility Services teams, this group is also responsible for putting together all design documents for construction including the contractor bidding process.This position will interface as a member of the overallFacility Services team in the execution of those projects throughout the airport.
Managing multiple project managers who are overseeing $200+ million annually in capital projects for DEN.
Develop standard contract formats and procedures for on-call and specific project contracts;
Identify industry practices for alternative project delivery methods for implementation at DEN.
Directs and evaluates the work of project managers and associated personnel; provides managerial expertise to staff, and establishes/implements project objectives.
Facilitates revisions toDEN design standards, evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of project delivery methods and procedures, and recommends policy/procedure revisions.
Assists in developing and managing the budget for the unit/section and allocating funds for projects in order to accomplish yearly goals and objectives.
Resolves operational and management issues, makes decisions that are inclusive of multiple perspectives, and solves underlying problems.
Coaches, mentors, and challenges staff. Champions continuous improvement, including devising new strategies and new opportunities. Sets performance standards for the group and ensures operations achieve or exceed performance metrics.
Builds effective teams, encourages zealous debate and dialogue, encourages strengths and addresses deficiencies.
Demonstrates personal accountability and responsibility, and holds staff to same standards.
Participates in the development of budget and staffing recommendations for projects that are operating and capital expenditures.

Manages the process of project reporting to airport stakeholders.
Documents causes for disciplinary action and initiates letters of reprimand and formal recommendations for disciplinary action.
Develops and implements consultant performance evaluations criteria to rate consultant proficiency in developing contract documents which define project perimeters to effectively community the project's operational requirements to contractors.
Collaborates with multiple DEN stakeholders for building and finalizing business cases.
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Experienceoverseeing engineering assignments/projects, coordinating tasks, and managing consultants/contractors, and other employees assigned to specific projects.
Experience working inlarge multifaceted facilitiessuch as: airport,college campus, hospital, etc.
Experience workingon projectswithmultiple stakeholderssuch as airlines, tenants, orother government agencies.
Experience managing a team inclusive of Professional Engineers and/or Architectural firms.
Experience in preparing capital project programs.
A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Engineering or related field
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.

Requires registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers at the time of application. Or requires registration as an architect by the Colorado State Board of Registration at the time of application.
Registration in another state will be accepted in lieu of this requirement, provided that the applicant has Colorado registration at completion of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
