POSITION PURPOSE - The Project Analyst works to assist in the preparation of economic and financial analysis. Individuals will work on a combination of ad hoc analysis/data pulling, project work, and documentation of existing process/procedures.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
30% Performs economic and financial research and analyzes internal and external issues related to sales, gross margin, rate of return, working capital, investment, financial performance, and other financial metrics.
30%Conducts special financial and statistical studies as directed in coordination with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies.
20% Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of developed data.
20% Gathers and correlates basic information using established and defined financial procedures
NATURE AND SCOPE -
Position reports to Manager of Finance
No direct reports.
Must be eighteen years of age
Must pass the Drug Test
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE -
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
Recent undergraduate with major in Finance or Economics with related internship preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
MS Office experience desired
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Strong initiative and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
Ability to distinguish the "big picture" objectives and specific details.
Ability to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses. Understanding of the P&L and other financial statements, as well as a strong proficiency in Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and formatting for executive presentations), and PowerPoint.
