America World Adoption Association, a Christian non-profit international adoption agency based in McLean, Virginia, is seeking a part-time Director of Social Services to work in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Responsibilities to include conducting/supervising home studies and post placements; obtaining and maintaining the agency’s license in accordance with state regulations; conducting home study orientation meetings and training for families; managing a network of as-needed social workers to conduct home studies and post placements with families; conducting initial on-the-job training for home study coordinators; assisting public relations managers with adoption events as needed; meeting with families in the office or at the family’s home during or after business hours.
The qualified candidate is a committed believer in Jesus Christ as revealed in the Bible, has dynamic skills to communicate with prospective families the blessing of adoption, is adept and thorough in resolving client and staffing needs, is a self-starter and able to complete tasks in a timely manner, has excellent verbal/written communication skills, and has advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Minimum Education and Experience - A master's degree in Social Work or Public Administration and
four years of experience in a human services field including two years in a supervisory or managerial
capacity; or graduation from a four-year college or university and six years of experience in human
services field including three years in a supervisory or managerial capacity; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience
