Verizon Digital Media Services is looking for a talented writer who can create clear, concise, and comprehensive technical documentation for our video-related solutions. This individual will collaborate with SMEs across various teams to gain expert-level knowledge on our software, technology, and APIs. This knowledge will be leveraged to generate online help meant for both technical and developer audiences.

Responsibilities:
Create, review, and revise product documentation for accuracy, clarity, consistency, and quality. This effort should result in engaging online help designed to drive learning and feature adoption.

Work closely with various internal teams to understand technical concepts and new features.

Provide usability feedback on new and existing product offerings.

Develop short instructional videos that explain our technology and common tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
Stellar written skills paired with meticulous attention to detail.

Self-motivated with a proactive problem-solving attitude.

Ability to quickly grasp complex technologies and explain them in a clear and concise manner.

Ability to work with an informal cross-organizational team in a fast-paced environment.

Strong proficiency with HTML code and web authoring software.

Proven track record of delivering high quality documentation on time.

Bachelor’s degree in English or a relevant technical discipline.

3+ years of experience in a writing capacity in a technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience authoring software and developer documentation (e.g., APIs, CLIs, and SDKs).

Ability to write sample code in JavaScript, Java, and Python.

Strong proficiency with Madcap Flare.

Proficiency with UNIX, macOS, and Windows.

Solid understanding of streaming and/or networking technologies.

Positive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous learning and a desire to help others.
