QUALIFICATIONS

Network Engineer-IT:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, or a related field is required. Exceptional experience and progress toward certification may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree. Two years recent enterprise server experience is required including Active Directory management, Windows & Linux Server management/deployment, VMWare data center infrastructure, and end-user desktop management/deployment. Two years recent experience in the administration of Microsoft Office 365 is required, including Exchange (online and on-premise) and Office client applications. Two years recent experience installing and maintaining Ethernet networks including routing and remote access is also required. Experience with Cisco & HP brand equipment is preferred. Experience with Citrix, Windows Remote Desktop Services, VMware VDI, and AirWatch configuration, administration, and workstation setup is preferred. Experience with performance and security event monitoring is preferred. Experience in environments subject to NERC CIP requirements is preferred. Experience with Windows and Linux application deployment and virtualization solutions (including Turbo or Docker) is preferred. Experience with a scripting language such as PowerShell or Bash is preferred.

Licensing/Certification:
Progress toward obtaining industry certifications (MCSE, MCITP, CCNA, Network+, Linux+, RHCSA, etc.) is preferred. Must have a valid Missouri driver's license (minimum Class F).

Senior Network Engineer-IT:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Engineer-IT:
Under the direction of the Supervisor-IT Network Operations or designee, responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of large enterprise network and server infrastructure. In cooperation with the Support Center, provides end-user desktop support and client infrastructure management, including patching, performance monitoring, and implementation. Ensures data integrity and recovery processes including data backup and business continuation. Monitors and assists Application Development with the deployment and maintenance of enterprise applications and associated platforms. Responsible for managing computer network and application access control across multiple systems. Responsible for the design, implementation, management, and documentation of enterprise systems subject to regulatory and industry requirements such as PCI and NERC CIP. Self-directed, leads by example, assists others in gaining knowledge, and is accountable for providing cross training. Develops and administers plans for monitoring, measuring, and evaluating hardware and software performance. Corrects computer performance related problems or advises appropriate parties on corrective measures. Based on information regarding new technologies and new application development, analyzes, makes projections, and advises management on need for expansion or change of enterprise computer hardware and software. Advises development staff, technical support staff, and users on best utilization of enterprise computer resources. Configures, implements, and maintains enterprise computer hardware and network operating system software in the most effective manner to meet the needs of the Utility. Assists in configuring enterprise storage systems in the most effective manner to meet the needs of the Utility. Provides diagnostic problem solving on computer hardware and software, acting as a liaison with vendors on problem resolution. Provides guidance to Information Technology staff and management in establishing standards for hardware and software installation. Maintains appropriate maintenance contracts with vendors for computer hardware and software as well as any backup facilities. Performs and conducts evaluations of computing hardware and software for feasibility of use. Designs, requisitions, and coordinates enterprise computer equipment acquisitions and installations, including servers, desktops, associated software and may assist with storage and network equipment (routers, switches, cabling, etc.). Responsible for maintaining documentation of enterprise systems and processes. Documentation must be capable of providing critical information for knowledge transfer, business continuation, and regulatory compliance. Ensures the Utility's processes and procedures for PCI and NERC compliance are followed and documented as prescribed. Assists management with the creation, review, implementation, and audit of processes, procedures, and systems used to facilitate compliance. Reviews, understands, responds, and documents actions taken to mitigate malware and other security alerts. Maintains system security through the review and installation of vendor security patches in a timely manner. When patching is not possible, mitigate security concerns through alternate means. Assures adherence to standards and specifications for equipment acquisition and interconnectivity in a secure manner. Provides input in forecasting future budget needs for IT. Provides frontline network support to the Support Center. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Senior Network Engineer-IT

Develops and administers plans for monitoring, measuring, and evaluating hardware and software performance. Provides advanced trouble shooting skills for computer performance related problems and advises appropriate parties on corrective measures. Based on information regarding new technologies and new application development, analyzes, makes projections, and advises management on need for expansion or change of enterprise computer hardware and software. Advises development staff, technical support staff, and users on best utilization of enterprise computer resources. Based on company needs, establishes and maintains minimum standards for desktop computer equipment. Performs and conducts evaluations of computing hardware and software for feasibility of use. Establishes and maintains minimum standards for desktop computer equipment based on company needs. Designs, requisitions, and coordinates enterprise computer equipment acquisitions and installations, including servers, desktop, storage and network equipment (routers, switches, cabling, etc.), and associated software. Responsible for maintaining documentation of enterprise systems and processes. Documentation must be capable of providing critical information for knowledge transfer, business continuation, and regulatory compliance. Able to plan and manage Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft File and Print services, and Microsoft Office 365. Familiarity with application deployment and virtualization tools. Must possess working knowledge of virtual computing environments including VMWare. Must understand enterprise storage systems and associated backup requirements. A working knowledge of computer networks, peripheral equipment, system software, personal computers, and communication networks is required. Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.

A working knowledge of computer networks, peripheral equipment, system software, personal computers, and communication networks is required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position is primarily sedentary; able to sit for long periods of time; able to view computer screen for long periods of time; able to answer phones; may have to travel to other CU locations; ability to perform repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Normal office environment. May require occasional late hours and weekend work.
