This Business Development Manager role entails leading business development efforts from identification to award and participating in all phases of the capture process.
This position will provide sales support conducting research on opportunities, analyzing markets, and identifying potential teaming partners.
Regularly meet with prospective/current clients and teaming partners
Develop and execute call/visit plans to present corporate capabilities and gather business intelligence.
Collaborate on proposal development efforts, and act as a key resource to write, edit, modify, and participate in full production of proposals that you've captured.
Maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities, develop, and update shareable client relationship management information.
Conduct weekly BD mtg with corporate leadership team to review and defend pipeline. Work closely with Technical Services / Delivery to develop effective capture strategies.
Extensive experience using GovWin, beta.sam.gov, and ebuy
Decompose solicitations designing compliant proposal outlines
Becomes familiar with technical terms and methods including general information technology (IT) terms, tools, and platforms; cyber security and information assurance; IT operational issues;
Becomes familiar with Steel Point’s processes, descriptions of current and/or past work, and related graphics to include in new proposals
Creates and maintains descriptions of Steel Point’s key technical and managerial capabilities for use in future proposals, company briefings, and marketing materials.
Develops and creates new text with input from a variety of authors, provide proofreading support, and perform copy and content editing for proposal sections
Search existing proposal source files and use other research methods to obtain information and pertinent material to write technical,
management, past performance, executive summaries, and other proposal sections
Participates in review debriefs and revise text according to the proposal manager's recovery plan
Bachelor's degree or a minimum of five years of Federal Government proposal experience
Must be able to read and understand Federal Government RFPs Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Adobe Acrobat Proactive individuals with strong attention to accuracy and detail
Must have DHS, small business, GWAC, business development, and capture experience
The candidate must offer superior communication skills – especially involving technically-oriented writing – and have the ability to describe complex technical terms/methods in a clear and engaging manner.
Must also have enthusiasm for a dynamic work environment often involving the quick development of proposal content.
