This position is for a student intern - must be enrolled in an accredited degree program to be eligible. Ideal candidate will be pursuing a electrical/mechanical engineering degree and be available to begin work at 6:00am.
The Entergy electric utility companies are part of the wholesale electric market administered by the Mid-continent Independent System Operator, Inc. (MISO). The purpose of this job is to assist the team that produces the load forecast and generation bids for MISO. The intern must be a full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning and will be temporarily employed to gain practical work experience in their field of study.
Assist in plant communication, formulation of offers of contractual purchase power agreements and Entergy generating units, and analyze forecasted load demand
Review and assist in development and modification of procedures and operating guides
Utilize analytical skills to determine root cause of potential day ahead market issues
Organize and update support tools to improve process efficiency and product deliverables
Minimum education required of the position
Currently enrolled in accredited four-year institution of higher learning, pursuing undergrad or master’s degree in Engineering.
Preferred: 3rd or 4th year Civil, Electrical or Mechanical engineering students. A Highly qualified 2nd year student may be considered. GPA 3.0 or above.

Exempt employees may not be paid overtime associated with such duties.
