This position is located in Southern California
Will assist the Management team with opening and closing procedures as needed.
Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other food items in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen equipment according to restaurants standardized recipes.
Complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period.
Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection oven, flat top range and refrigeration equipment.
Prepares item for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.
Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
Perform other general duties as required
Unlock and unsecure the café as required
Make sure FOH/BOH is ready for opening
Turn on appliance as required
Make sure food is stocked on the line as required
Make sure food prep and assignments are planned out
Make sure register is ready
Work with management staff on food inventory
Work with management staff on Café supplies
Be able to work FOH/BOH as needed
Make sure all monies accounted for
Make sure food prep for the next day is complete
Make sure the café is cleaned to health department standards FOH/BOH
Make sure Trash has been thrown out
Make sure all kitchen appliances are shut down as required
Make sure oil is changed out or strained as required
Make sure all foods wrapped, sealed, and stored appropriately
Make sure all dishes have been cleaned and stored
Be able to lock up and secure the café as required
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must take the initiative to excel
Must possess organizational skills
Integrity and good work habits required
Must have a positive attitude as well as service oriented
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow the directives of Director/Supervisor
Must be able to accept constructive criticism when necessary
Must have the willingness and desire to learn
Must work safe and professional at all times
Ability to work as a team member
Ability to keep the department OSHA/Health Compliant
Knowledge of all company policies and procedures, e.g., safety
Ability to contribute hands on
