We are currently seeking a dynamic and skilled Business Intelligence Data Engineer to join our growing team. Reporting to the BI Manager, this position ensures the business and BI team has the tools it requires to work operationally.

As the BI Data Engineer, you will serve as a key function in the continuous development and support of BI applications, system integrations, and the live BI data platform design. You will manage multiple environments as well as support activities of keeping the high availability of reporting online while keeping the business informed and engaged daily.

What You'll Do:
Maintain multiple ETL integrations using SAP Data Services, smart data integration (SDI), and other tools.
Maintain upgrades, patching and hotfixes as required for BI applications.
Design data models for BI data platform in SAP HANA and other systems as required.
Identify and execute on continuous improvement of the existing data foundations.
Ensure compliance with security policies and practices in accordance with internal and external audit governing bodies.
Make recommendations and ensure quality assurance and support processes are running effectively.
Provide professional and prudent communications working in a team environment with a diverse group of associates.
Work closely with IT project management team to deliver resources to projects in a timely and effective manner.
Regularly report against uptime and availability and ensure both IT senior management and the business are kept proactively informed.
Understand the requirements and provide technical direction in the analysis, design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, maintenance and enhancement of complex technical solutions related to enterprise BI projects.
Ability to create technical design documents (TDD) and unit test documents for all technical solutions.
Ensure Agile and ITIL processes are adhered to for integrations.
Maintain a strong ethical approach to vendors, customers and staff which is aligned with the ethical principles of the company.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking current practices; participating in professional societies.
Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need To Be Successful:
Significant experience in managing SAP Business Objects applications, ETL integrations and data modeling.
High level of technical competence and a strong understanding of BI data processes, modeling and best practices.
Proven experience in building and managing ETL instances with SAP Data Services.
Proven experience with real-time systems integration.
Experience with BI tools including SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, Information Design Tool, and Tableau.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including technical writing skills.
Strong prioritization and time-management skills.
Understanding of Agile and ITIL methodologies and processes is preferred.
Experience with InfoBurst Administration for report scheduling, 360 Suite for promotions, etc, and native SAP HANA hands-on development; all preferred.

At A Minimum, You'll Have:
5+ years of SAP Data Services
5+ years of data modeling and design
2+ years of SAP Business Objects Administration
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
Additional years of experience in similar roles will be considered in lieu of formal education
Strong SQL skills
Experience with the following tools: SAP Business Objects 4.x (end to end), SAP Data Services 4.x, SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, SAP Business Objects Information Design Tool, SAP HANA, MS SQL Server
