The Montgomery County Department of Parks, Enterprise Division, is currently seeking seasonal/intermittent applicants to fill a variety of positions throughout Montgomery County.

Work hours are flexible and include evening, nights, holidays and weekends. All selected candidates must display excellent customer service skills, attain First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications (training classes available) and attend in-house orientation. Ages 16 – 17 must have a work permit if hired.

Opportunities include:
Summer Camp Counselor ($12.00/hr)
Work with children and provide additional support throughout the camp session. Skating and playing tennis and/or other team sports, set up and clean before and after camp, lead or assist with games and activities. Prepare craft, activity material and accompany campers on hikes and outside activities. Supervise daily activities of camp youth participants, enforcing program rules and Youth Camp Standards. Qualifications: High School diploma or GED and at least one year of experience working with youth in the field of parks and recreation, physical education, child care, or a related field. Minimum age 18.

Summer Camp Senior Counselor ($13.00-$13.50/hr)
Will assist the Camp Director with planning a comprehensive program or schedule for the day camp. Work with children and provide additional support throughout the camp session. Skating and playing tennis and/or other team sports, set up and clean before and after camp, lead or assist with games and activities. Prepare craft, activity material and accompany campers on hikes and outside activities. Supervise daily activities of camp youth participants, enforcing program rules and Youth Camp Standards. Qualifications: One year of college and at least one year of experience working with youth in the field of parks and recreation, physical education, child care, or a related field. Minimum age 18.

Summer Camp Director ($17.75-18.50/hr)
Directors are responsible for the supervision of Day Camp programs for participants age 6-14, and the overall daily operation of a comprehensive program to include review and oversight of administrative records. Directors plan, implement, participate and evaluate programs, and special events. Train, supervise, and evaluate staff and volunteers. Attend meetings, enforce program rules and Youth Camp Standards, work closely with parents, and MNCPPC staff. Qualifications: At least 24 months of previous experience in a camping or children's program as an administrator or a supervisor. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience in Parks and Recreation, physical education, child care or related field. Minimum Age: 21

These positions are seasonal (part-time) and do not include benefits. Salaries are based on experience. A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.
