Executive Producer, Trump, Inc. (TEMPORARY)
Trump, Inc. is an investigative podcast about the intersection of the public interest and the business interests of President Trump’s family and top officials in his administration. It is produced by WNYC Studios in partnership with ProPublica.
The Executive Producer oversees all aspects of the show with a keen eye on strategies for growth, collaboration, and overall excellence.
The Executive Producer works closely with the team — and with colleagues at WNYC and ProPublica — to craft narrative, investigative audio journalism on a bi-weekly basis and to maximize that work’s impact and reach. In collaboration with the show’s editor at ProPublica, the Executive Producer develops editorial goals and sets the editorial calendar.
The Executive Producer creates an environment in which great journalism can happen and the people who make that journalism can thrive.
This position reports to the Vice President of Original Content.
Job responsibilities include:
Manage the day-to-day work of production
Lead communication with staff and other teams at WNYC and ProPublica around scheduling, deadlines, and publishing decisions
Serve as the primary point of contact between WNYC and ProPublica on editorial and production matters
Manage the show’s budget
Supervise the show’s WNYC staff, evaluating the staff members’ performance and advancing their professional development
Work with the team to pursue reporting and publishing partnerships
Coordinate with marketing, sponsorship, publicity and live events teams at WNYC and ProPublica to advance the show’s mission
At least five years of journalism experience
At least two years experience producing narrative journalism podcasts
Proven track record of being a strong leader who embodies the mission and values of NYPR
Fearless pursuit of original, enterprising stories
Strong writing and editing skills
Familiarity with audio editing software, such as ProTools
Proven ability to mentor and inspire a staff
Impeccable attention to detail, ability to organize a busy calendar and willingness to work long hours when necessary
The intellectual and emotional depth, self-confidence and interpersonal skills to work effectively and/or interact with the staff, executives at NYPR and ProPublica, colleagues, partners and sources.
