Description:
The Grain Merchandiser is responsible for the procurement of grain and/or the marketing of finished goods to achieve optimum financial results. The Grain Merchandiser will develop and maintain relationships with customers, while also engaging in other business functions such as accounting, supply chain management and understanding of current grain markets.
Requirements:

Build & maintain relationships with a wide range of customers
Maintain customer accounts and handle all account related issues in a timely manner to ensure good customer service
Merchandise product to maximize profitability
Plan, develop, and implement grain purchasing strategies
Understand markets, interpret industry reports while understanding any changes in trends
Develop knowledge of competitor activities
Understand local plant operations
Understand supply chain management, understand available trucking and rail operations
Perform all other related duties as assigned by supervisor(s)

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in Agriculture or Business
Minimum 2 years Grain Merchandising experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physically able to monitor and use equipment as needed
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle
