Amazon Web Services (AWS) seeks a Finance Manager to join the Region Services Finance team to support an expanding services portfolio. This position will support multiple services owned by the Region Service Organization. This role will lead financial planning and reporting processes and will shape the strategy for how we price and launch new services. This position will work closely with multiple business partners and senior leadership to drive revenue/demand analysis, usage forecasts, cost and capacity models, pricing models and service P&L's, among other things. This role requires a self-starter and independent individual with strong financial modeling abilities, problem solving skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations. The successful candidate must be able to think strategically, perform dive deep analytics, and communicate effectively to senior management.
This candidate must have the ability to influence the decisions of business partners through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of data driven analyses. The ability to think and act quickly under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities effectively is a must. A proven track record of superior financial and strategic analysis and developing/delivering recommendations based on this analysis is a requirement for this role.
Key job responsibilities
- Finance lead for multiple services.
- Lead finance support in order to make pursue/not pursue decisions for new services and other strategic decisions for existing services.
- Support pricing analysis for new services.
- Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout AWS.
- Develop financial metrics to identify cost improvement opportunities.
- Create, maintain and improve profitability and management reporting for all services.
- Drive the financial planning / budgeting process for services.
- Support Service P&Ls and influence business decisions that drive revenue and/or capital expenditures.
- Provide deep analytics and communicate effectively with senior leadership.
- Streamline processes and lead improvement projects.
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Advanced financial modeling, P&L management and/or analysis experience.
- Strong business partnership experience; experienced in working with multiple stakeholders.
- Track record of managing deliverables from multiple teams to meet challenging deadlines.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
