Description of Duties/Essential Functions
Under general direction, serves as staff assistant to the Manager of Human Resource Management; provides day-to-day administrative support, performs a variety of responsible administrative duties; collaborates in the planning, development and implementation of new operational procedures. Conducts studies and investigations of problems affecting Human Resource Management; advises on operating inefficiencies. Responds to general inquiries made to the division; serves as liaison for the Manager and staff; maintains schedules, acquires supplies, opens and distributes mail.
Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years college, preferably with courses in public or business administration. Requires one year of professional experience in a public or private organization, or completion of an agency approved professional management training program. Requires ability to prepare written and oral reports; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Agency personnel. Requires the ability to use a PC and related software packages such as word processing and spreadsheets, database management, e-mail and the Internet.
