The Account Manager is a key role in getting our innovative flavors to new customers; in this role, you will develop, implement & execute a sales strategy with a group of customers in order to grow and develop business opportunities within the accounts that will result in increased and profitable sales to support the overall business strategy of the corporation. Customers include national restaurant chain and Food Service suppliers/processors.
Location: This position is located in Columbus, Ohio.
Identifies and closes food service sales opportunities within the chain account arena.
Develops account plans and sales strategy that incorporate the North American sales initiatives.
Develops sales forecasts and controls expenses in line with the budget.
Translates customer requirements and manages customer expectations by effective communication and ultimate selection and submission of winning solution.
Maintains and builds knowledge of customer’s industry and products and markets to target opportunities.
Able to learn/ understand IFF innovation/ technology and position them as competitive advantage.
Educates client regarding company’s products and technologies. Proactively promotes capabilities aligned to support winning proposition to the client.
Keeps abreast of competitive activities, prices and new business opportunities and maintains extensive business knowledge.
Provides on-going support and follow-up to ensure timely shipment of orders and customer satisfaction.
Responsible for relationship building at the highest levels within the region and with some key global stakeholders.
Proven track record of sales success working within the flavors industry.
Experience within the food service segment and national chain accounts.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills with the ability to interact and coordinate activities with internal support team and customers.
Bachelor’s degree, with 5-7 years of related sales experience in a flavor related industry.
10 years of sales experience in areas of account management, developing a strategic account, identifying sales potential and forecasting.
Demonstrated competency in managing multiple projects simultaneously
Candidates with existing network and client base will be highly advantageous
