The area manager is responsible for overseeing and providing leadership for one area as his or her own business concentrating on sales growth and profitability, customer satisfaction, merchandising standards, recruitment, training and development of staff and operations. The area manager requires strong delegation, leadership, and operational skills to effectively manage high volume performance.
Network, recruit, hire, develop and retain high quality management to fill store profiles and succession planning.
Set annual goals, administer performance reviews and develop all direct reports.
Train, develop and provide ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising and delivering the customer experience.
Evaluate, develop and promote performance of staff against company standards and goals.
Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by executing and achieving the Customer Experience consistently through regular assessment, coaching and follow-up within the group of stores.
Ensure implementation of all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom in each store.
Meet or exceed profitability expectations in sales, payroll, shrink and conversion.
Create and execute strategies to maximize sales and control expenses.
Meet all payroll expectations.
Controls company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures.
Execute and comply with all company policies and procedures.
