Work Arrangement
This role is based remotely but if you live within a 50-mile radius of (Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Milford or Mountain View), you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum.
The Role
As the Communications Director of Creator Engagements, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing General Motors' creator and brand ambassador communications strategy. You will identify and build relationships with key influencers to amplify our brand narrative through a wide range of comms activations – from events to earned media opportunities. We’re looking for someone who possesses a deep passion and expertise for the creator ecosystem, has their finger on the pulse of what is new and next, and can plan and develop innovative collaborations that resonate with target audiences and support our strategic objectives. You’re comfortable managing media activations from beginning to end and most of all, possess a keen eye for identifying the right ambassador for the right opportunity.
What You'll Do
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive creator and brand communications strategy aligned with GM's brand goals and objectives. Collaborate with internal teams (Comms, Marketing, Product, etc.) to plan multifaceted collaborations that address top company priorities.
- Develop relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with creators and up-and-coming brands, and identify emerging talent across platforms. Create data-backed rubrics to inform selection of creators for specific media activations and outcomes.
- Content management: Work closely with creators and brands to develop engaging content and creative concepts. Oversee the execution of comms collaborations from beginning to end, ensuring content is aligned with company expectations and deliverables.
- Performance measurement: Track and analyze the performance of creator activations, measuring key metrics such as reach, engagement, and ROI. Provide regular reports to optimize future strategies and initiatives.
- Industry expertise: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging platforms, and creator engagement best practices, and use insights to pivot or evolve ongoing strategy as needed.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in communications or a related field.
7+ years of experience in creator engagements, brand ambassadorships, or working in creator economy.
Expert knowledge of creator community across all platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest, etc.)
Outstanding ability to build and maintain relationships with creators and internal stakeholders.
Proven track record in implementing social media, digital & integrated content collaborations
Strong understanding of social media platforms, content best practices, and digital trends.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset with experience in campaign performance tracking and reporting.
Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative strategies and solutions.
Experience in content creation and management.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Passion for the automotive industry and an understanding of GM's brand.
A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
Compensation: The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable state laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of New York, Colorado, California, or Washington.
- The salary range for this role is $156,200 - $239,300. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
- Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
