Job Overview:
Long Pine Hospitality is seeking a dedicated and energetic Serve Cook to join our food service team. The Serve Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to students and staff, ensuring high-quality food presentation and maintaining a clean and organized serving area. This role is critical in providing nutritious and appealing meals while supporting the overall efficiency of the school cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and portion sizes. Ensure that all food is cooked and presented to meet quality and safety standards.
- Serving: Serve meals to students and staff in a timely and courteous manner. Ensure that food is presented attractively and meets the school’s nutritional guidelines.
- Food Handling: Follow food safety protocols in handling, serving, and storing food. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the serving area.
- Customer Service: This position serves as first point of contact for all students and staff. Interact positively with students and staff. Address any special requests or dietary needs with professionalism and courtesy.
- Station Maintenance: Keep the serving area clean and organized throughout the meal period. Restock supplies as needed and ensure that equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handwashing, wearing gloves, and maintaining a sanitary work environment.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Adhere to sanitation and safety procedures, including regular cleaning of kitchen equipment and utensils. Ensure all dishes used are cleaned in a timely manner and assist others at end of service to finish cleaning kitchen and dish room.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other kitchen and cafeteria staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service. Communicate effectively with team members and management to address any issues or needs.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Culinary Arts training or related coursework is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment is preferred, but not required.
- Skills:
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and serving techniques.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to follow recipes and food safety guidelines accurately.
- Certifications: Food Safety Certification (ServSafe Manager) preferred, but not required.
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and occasional weekends, based on the school’s schedule.
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment.
CASHIER:
Job Overview:
Long Pine Hospitality is seeking a friendly and reliable Cashier to join our cafeteria team. The Cashier will be responsible for handling transactions, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process for students and staff. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing: Operate the cash register to process purchases, including handling cash, and any other forms of payment. Accurately ring up items and provide correct change.
- Customer Service: This role serves as the the last point of contact in the service line. It is vital that we use this last touchpoint to instill service and satisfaction with our brand. Greet and assist students and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Address any questions or concerns about transactions or the menu.
- Cash Handling: Maintain accurate cash drawer records, including balancing the register at the beginning and end of each shift. Report any discrepancies or issues to the Supervisor or Kitchen Manager.
- Food Service: Assist with food service as needed, including serving food items and ensuring that the serving area is clean and organized.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock levels at the cashier station as well as the beverage cooler, snack racks, coke machine, and condiment station and report any shortages or issues with supplies to the Kitchen Manager.
- Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and organized cashier area, including wiping down surfaces and ensuring that all equipment is properly sanitized.
- Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene protocols. Adhere to school policies and procedures related to food service and cash handling.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other cafeteria staff to ensure efficient and smooth operations. Communicate effectively with team members and management.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in a cashier or customer service role is preferred but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong numerical and cash handling skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and efficiently.

- Certifications: Food Safety Certification (ServSafe or equivalent) preferred but not required.
