LGS Management Group is currently looking for qualified candidates for our Controller position. Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Controller is responsible for direct supervision of all accounting functions. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, billings to clients for services provided, collection of accounts receivable, supervising accounts payable, monthly management reporting, monthly preparation of a reforecast, assist in the annual preparation of a budget, annual tax returns and all treasury administration. The Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain all general accounting functions for the companies.
Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing control disciplines across all accounting functions.
Manages the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Accounting Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Review and recordation of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity.
Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances.
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.
Oversee cash projections to effectively manage cash balances.
Lead all aspects of the company s annual audit performed by external auditors.
Support VP of Finance, CFO and Executive Management to respond to ad hoc requests as required.
Identify and develop process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a CPA required
10+ years of experience as a Controller required
Expert knowledge of general ledger accounting and contract finance
Strong knowledge of GAAP reporting
Working knowledge of FAR regulations
Strong leadership ability
Accounting System implementation experience required.
Excellent computer skills including advanced Microsoft Excel.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
CPA required
Ten (10) or more years accounting experience as a Controller required
