Travis Roofing Supply Virginia LLC is looking for an Outside Sales Representative for our branch location in the Norfolk, VA area. We are a roofing material supply distributor that supplies high quality roofing and other building materials to contractors at competitive prices. Our mission is to be the most agile, communicative, and responsive roofing distribution company.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the branch manager the outside sales representative’s main responsibility will be to effectively generate, capture and grow the customer sales base outside of the organization. This will involve taking orders from existing customers and securing prospective non-member clientele through phone, email or in person communication. The representative will be a subject manner expert (SME) on various products, programs or services offered by the company.


Schedule appointments with existing customers to review product requirements and determine other avenues for additional business

Generate non-member business accounts through cold-calling

Provide product and service quotes to customers

Update customers on company product modifications, changes and enhancements

Provide customers with current pricing, services and new product release launches

Design professional demonstrations/presentations of company products or services

Attend conferences and/or trade shows to gain knowledge on new products, procedures and services

Provide management with all necessary customer information – profile, calls-to-action, sources, dates

Utilize marketing data to maximize sales effectiveness

Prepare various reports on sales generated

Perform updates and maintenance of customer accounts

Build rapport with vendors and suppliers

Maintain expense reports

Required Skills:

Ability to create and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with customers and provide excellent customer service

Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize critical tasks

Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Proficient use of PC/Software including Word, Excel and Outlook

Preferred Experience:

Construction Industry experience a plus

Prior sales experience a plus

Agility ERP experience a Huge plus
