The Medical Assistant position will act as an assistant in preparing patients for medical visits and procedures. Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, assists with administrative services and assists with direct patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors and records patient vital signs
- Monitors and records patient weight
- Positions patients as requested by nurse or by the patient
- Obtains fingerstick glucose testing as requested
- Documents patient data and care given in the electronic medical record
- Escorts patients, materials, specimens, and equipment to various clinic sections, nursing units or assigned rooms
